Shutterstock Adds Awesome 4K Aerial Stock Footage from DroneBase

Shutterstock has just announced a new distribution partnership with DroneBase, which will bring hundreds of 4K aerial stock footage of professional quality to their already huge video collection.

DroneBase is one of the largest providers of drone video services, delivered through a global network of professional pilots. Through this agreement, their high quality aerial videos will be available under Royalty Free license at Shutterstock, ready to download and use.

The agency says the constant upgrades in drone technology and ongoing growth in demand for aerial videos impulses them to bring in more of this kind of clips for their buyers.

Shutterstock Video Variety: More Aerial Stock Footage in 4K

Shutterstock is a stock media agency known for the titanic size of their libraries, and their stock footage division is not the exception, currently hosting over 10 million videos. The company aims at covering every possible content need, and quantity and variety are a great way to do it. See more details in our Shutterstock Video review.

This agency identified a considerable demand for aerial footage, consistent with the advances in drone video technology. With UAVs capable of shooting in ultra high definition and image stabilization comparable to video shot using helicopters, it is now possible to get amazing aerial shots at a much lower cost. Even more, drones can get to places no other vehicle can, resulting in never-before-seen images. We told you about this in our article about how drones are changing the filmmaking industry, too.

By partnering with DroneBase in a new collection of aerial stock footage, Shutterstock is ensuring a large supply of the aerial videos that are in so high demand lately, in the also most wanted resolution of 4K.

This way they intend to keep their customers happy, bringing fresh stock footage to use in their projects.

DroneBase: A Global Professional Drone Video Supplier

So who is Shutterstock’s new distribution partner? DroneBase is a well-established company that connects clients needing aerial footage and/or data with skilled UAV pilots worldwide whom can fulfill their needs. Customers place their request, and pilots take up on the mission.

They have professional pilots in all 50 states of the U.S and in over 70 countries. Through this deal, this large network of pilots will be creating compelling 4K aerial videos to be included in Shutterstock’s footage collection, ready to download and use.

All footage from DroneBase pilots is shot with DJI drones, granting a technical standard across the entire collection. And being all in 4K, you can rest assured the quality is suitable for any professional use.

Shutterstock’s Taps on the Rising Drone Video Market

This new partnership, while exciting, is not surprising. Drone video market in stock footage has been growing and growing since years. The possibilities this technology opens up in terms of type of content and cost reduction are way too attractive as to let them pass. Who doesn’t want an eye-catching bird-eye’s immersive clip of a tropical island? Who would say no to an aerial take of an iconic city center?
